American Home Assurance Company has been localised on the 1st of June 2008 and with this local flavour but foreign essence, the company name has been renownedly changed to AIG General Insurance (Malaysia)Berhad (AIGGI). AIGGI has also been awarded "The Brandlaureate Award 2007-2008". I believe this award was conferred based on the global awareness of AIG sponsorship on Manchester United Footbal Club, with millions of football fans worlwide, coming to learn the brandname as a global insurer provider.
AIGGI CFO, Ms Soo Wai Har represented the company to receive the award from our YB, Tun Dr. Mahathir. AIG localisation will give the company the competitive edge in strengthening our market position by tapping into the bumi market via acquiring Takaful license in the near future.
